Account administration
The securities account is used to book-enter all transactions and to distribute dividend from the issuers to the individual investors.

VP controls ownership relations with regards to all electronic securities by keeping accounts for all investors in Denmark. Approximately 3 million securities accounts are currently kept with VP. Omnibus accounts can also be kept with VP, providing certain conditions are fulfilled.

Securities accounts
Securities accounts are established via an Account Controller. Requests regarding establishment of a securities account should therefore be made to a bank or investment company etc. who is linked-up to VP as an Account Controller.

VP facilitates the book-entry of any changes to the investors’ holdings as result from trade transactions.

VP manages the distribution of payments from the issuers to the individual VP accounts, thereby minimising the risk of errors.
